The Story — Knead Therapy Bakery
The Story

Hi. I’m Jass.
I started a bakery.

Therapy is expensive. Carbs are comforting. Here we are.

“I bake because it makes people happy.
And honestly? Being told I’m an amazing baker
never gets old.”

I’ve been baking since I was a teenager. Not because someone taught me — I’m entirely self-taught — but because something about making things from scratch felt like the one place my brain would actually settle down. No instructions. No rules. Just flour, butter, and a dangerous amount of ambition.

For years, baking was just a thing I did. For myself. For my family. For anyone unlucky enough to be near my kitchen when I got an idea at 11pm. And then one day my husband and my friends said the thing you say to someone whose hobby has gotten slightly out of control: “you should just sell these.”

So I did.

I’m a millennial mom with ADHD and anxiety. Which means I feel everything deeply, forget what I walked into the room for, and have approximately forty-seven unfinished projects at any given time.

But baking? Baking I finish. Every single time.

There’s something genuinely therapeutic about it — the repetition, the process, the way a kitchen that smells like brown butter feels like proof that everything is going to be okay. My own life experiences — the hard seasons, the complicated feelings, the things that don’t have easy names — became the foundation for this menu.

Because humans deserve complex carbs for their complex lives.

These aren’t just cookies. They’re designed with refined, layered flavors meant to make you feel something. The Situationship brownie keeps you up at night for a reason. The Secure Attachment cookie is golden and impossibly soft on purpose. Every item on this menu was built around an emotion — because that’s what food actually is when you make it with intention.

The reason any of this exists

“I’m married to my person — a man who has sat through every single 2am brain spiral, every ‘wait what if I did this instead,’ every ‘do you think potato chips belong on a brownie’ and every ‘would you still love me if I was a ghost.’ He said yes to all of it. His unconditional love and support is the reason I’m standing here today, running a business I actually believe in. This bakery exists because someone believed in me first — even when the idea came to me at midnight and I wouldn’t stop talking about it until 3am.”

— Jass, Founder of Knead Therapy Bakery

I also want to say this out loud because it matters to me — I’m a mom to two wonderful girls. And everything I do here is partly for them. I want them to grow up watching their mom chase something that brings her genuine joy, so they know without a doubt that they can too.

Life is meant to be lived. The what-ifs are meant to be chased. Not someday. Now. We spend so much time being afraid of failing that we forget to ask what happens if we actually succeed.

This bakery is my answer to that question. And I hope it’s a small reminder to anyone reading this that the thing you keep putting off — the idea you keep talking yourself out of — might just be the thing that changes everything.

Knead Therapy Bakery is a small batch, weekly drop bakery based in Connecticut. Everything is made fresh, made with intention, and made for people who believe that what you eat should actually feel like something.

We’re not a big operation. We’re one person, one kitchen, and an unreasonable commitment to quality. That’s why orders open Monday, close when we sell out, and pickup is Sunday. It’s not a limitation — it’s just how you make something worth eating.

If you’ve made it this far, hi. I’m glad you’re here. Go order something.
